RARE FIND! Here is an interesting little antique pear botanical print, extracted from a 1890 German Pierers dictionary. This vintage fruit illustration was the dictionary entry for "Birne", which means pears in German.

This vintage engraving is in German and shows lovely illustrations of heirloom varieties of pears with poetic names: Graue Dechanstbirne (Doyennée d'Automne in French), Rote Bergamotte (red bergamot), Der KuhFuss (Cow's foot), Steckmann's Butterbirne (butter pear), Ziegel's Winterbutterbirne (Pyrus communus, a winter pear), Esperen's Herrenbirne (Belle Lucrative), Sedel's Birne (a Swiss variety) and Verein's Dechantsbirne (Comice).

Frame it in a double-sided reversible frame and gift it to your favorite orchard gardener.

SIZE: page approx. 25.2 x 16.9 cm (9 7/8” x 6 3/5”) including margins, Image approx. 22,4 x 14.7 cm (8 3/4” x 5 3/4”).

AUTHENTICITY: What you will receive is an authentic dictionary page from 1890 that comes from a damaged volume. The paper is yellowed, as befits its age but the engraving is in very good condition. ONLY ONE IN STOCK!

SHIPPING: These prints ship in a cellophane bag and a cardboard-reinforced envelope. The mat and frame are NOT included.
